2020 Race Pack will be found here about a week before the event

Event Overview:

The Wee Beastie is a  mixed distance triathlon for 8 to 16 year olds set in the stunning Beale Park, Berkshire.  It’s one of the few open water triathlons for Juniors.  Please note that the swim is in a clear freshwater lake, and will be wetsuit compulsory.  We recommend that all competitors have had at least a couple of sessions in open water before tackling The Wee Beastie so they know what to expect on the day.

Everyone that finishes will receive a shiny medal to prove they beat The Wee Beastie. We’ve got lots of loos, an event village and plenty of food and drink to buy after the event.

Why not make it a family event?  Grown ups can race The Beale Beastie in the morning, and stay on to cheer on the youngsters in the afternoon.

Top off a fabulous day by taking advantage of discounted entry to Beale Park Wildlife Park and Gardens.  (You can purchase tickets during the online entry process).

Here's what they said about the Wee Beastie 2018:

"Very friendly. Well organised. Water station excellent. So often missing at kids events and so

needed when racing in the heat of the day."

"Wee Beastie - allowing the kids to acclimatise to the cold water before swimming was a great idea."

"This was my son's first experience of open water swimming. He completed it and loved it!"

"The calmness installed into the children prior to taking to "open water"."

"Beautiful venue"

"Thank you for taking notice of my sons latex allergy - you are one of the very few who have taken this on board!"

"My son has been competing in triathlon for the last 3 years and we have travelled to over 20+ events in that period.  The Wee Beastie was right up there with the best of them.  Course was compact so ideal for parent viewing and the layout was really well thought out.  The marshals were brilliant - and had a sensible approach to a kids triathlon (it is a race and it’s ‘serious’ but they are kids after all).  The race brief was informative without scaring the kids with too many rules and regulations. The pre swim acclimatisation was a super idea - they should make this mandatory at all kids open water events in my opinion.  And finally, the medal, it’s nice too see an event with a custom medal rather than the generic ‘triathlon’ medals which we seem to have accumulated!  Great job on the kids event.  We drove over 100 miles to get to this one and we will definitely come back for your 2019 event if there was one!"

"This was my daughters first ever competitive triathlon and everyone was so friendly and welcoming you’ve inspired her to do more. Thank you!"
