We want to make sure that everyone gets their race off to a strong and confident start, and that is why we host 3 swim training sessions a week.
On Monday we have two swim sessions. The first is at David Lloyd Reading and is coached by Derek and Joyce. This session is primarily a technique session.
The second session is at Carnival Pool, Wokingham and is primarily a speed/endurance session. This session is coached by Alistair.
Thursday's swim session is currently held at Carnival Pool, Wokingham and is coached by Dave. This is a bridging session to improve speed and technique using pool drills.
Friday swimming is held at David Lloyd in Reading, coached by head coach Derek, these sessions are technique focused using drills to improve and strengthen technique.
All our swim training runs throughout the year, and is a staple for any triathlete's training. Every swim session welcomes all abilities, as the lanes are split by ability.

Open water swimming
During the summer months we like to get outside and into the open water. Although we don't have regular official training sessions at local lakes, we do have some open water acclimatisation sessions for members pencilled in for 2019. You will most definitely find a few TVT-ers at the lakes, as we are lucky to have a choice of lakes pretty much on our doorstep, and some give discount for TVT members.
Informal meet-ups are often arranged at the lakes, which are open evenings and weekends in the summer. Many members will use these as a chance to do a brick training session to prepare for racing.
We have recently introduced informal trips to visit Portsmouth Tri Club to practice sea swimming. These Saturday morning trips are arranged by various members on an ad-hoc basis.
